General Information
Reunion Location:
Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum, 1011 Pacesetter Drive, Rantoul, IL 61866.Reunion Dates: Friday, September 16, Saturday, September 17, and Sunday, September 18, 2005. Check-in registration will begin at 6:00 P.M. and end at 9:00 P.M, on Thursday, September 15, in the front lobby of the museum. Registration will continue in the front lobby of the museum on Friday, September 16 from 10:00 A.M. until 5:OOP.M.
Rantoul is located approximately 2-hours from Chicago, Illinois on Interstate 1-57 or 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Indianapolis, Indiana on 1-74 to Route 45 at Urbana and 20 minutes North to Rantoul. The museum is located on the former Chanute Air Force Base with an active general aviation airport and a full service FBO (Airport Identifier; TIP).

The prices shown are approximate. Call hotels for the exact rates. The Prairie Pines Campgrounds, located at 711 Chandler Road on the former base property, about 1.5 miles from the museum, will also accept advanced reservations. Reunion Activities;
The centerpiece of the reunion will be BU.N.O. 141311. This aircraft was delivered to the Chanute Air Force Base in 1983, but had been neglected
over the years, and was in pretty bad shape when it was turned over to the
museum in early 1999. It was then "discovered" by ex-Willy Victor crewmen
later that year. Work parties were organized, and cleanup work began in April
2000, The aircraft has now been thoroughly cleaned, missing parts are being
located and installed, and it has been painted in Pacific and Atlantic Barrier
markings. It is beautiful! You will be free to go onboard at any time during
the reunion. Arrangements will be made to facilitate access for the
handicapped.
The Willy Victor: The aircraft will be open and available for self-tours all day Friday and Saturday and part of the day on Sunday.
Friday Night Cocktail Reception: This get-together reception will begin at 6:00 P.M. on Friday, September 16, in the Caddy Shack Restaurant on Veteran's Parkway, For directions from the museum to the Restaurant please consult the map, Attachment II, of this information package. The reception will include a buffet, a pay-as-you-go bar, and live entertainment,
Golf Tournament: A golf tournament at the Willow Pond Golf Course on Saturday, September 17. Entry fee is $65.00 including green fees, carts, lunch and prizes. Please include the entry fee with the mail-in registration form. Something special for the Ladies:
A Fashion Show-Tea Luncheon is being planned for Saturday September 17, The cost of the luncheon is $15.00. The luncheon will begin at 12:00 Noon and conclude at approximately 2:00 to 2:30 P.M. Please include the fee for the luncheon with the mail-in registration form.Reunion Banquet:
Saturday, September 17, at 6:00 P.M. in the Hangar of the museum. The guest of honor at the Banquet, of course, will be the Willy Victor plane. The banquet will include a Buffet Dinner, a pay-as-you-go bar, program ceremonies, a Guest Speaker and entertainment.Attire: Casual for the Friday night reception. "Smart Casual" for the banquet (open collar shirts and slacks, sport coats, or suits).
Sunday Buffet Breakfast: The CaddyShack Restaurant will be open for a Sunday Buffet/Brunch. This is not included in the Reunion Fee.
